Everything we take — After 15 years of testing supplements!

Over the years people have asked for a peek inside our complete supplement lineup 👀

So today, we’re answering!

This post is a list of all supplements we take or have close at hand.

I’ll show you which make the cut as tried and true, which are in the testing phase, and some that will never return!

Categories: (links take you there)

I bet we’re in good company with our many baskets of rejects – saved ‘just in case’ that need to be purged!

Also we’re currently working to remove additional supplements because peptides have been so effective.

As one reader pointed out

Disclaimers – Of course, these represent our unique needs and we are not directly suggesting them to others.

All links are provided for convenience only – and I’m still working on filling some in!

I am NOT an Amazon afilliate.

Here’s the requested link to the push-to-open pill boxes: https://a.co/d/bMCqw3D

Let’s get to it!

Staple Supplements

These rarely change and when I have time, are in pill boxes in advance!

We both take the lowest recommended amount except where indicated.

One container per day
  • Multi vitaminJunior Nutrients Pure Encapsulations – ideal because it doesn’t contain ultra high B vitamins, copper, or iron, and does include the most bioavailable forms of vitamins.
    • Also the capsules are small & easy to spread out through a day. 1 cap, 3-4x a day
    • It’s of course not ‘perfect,’ but much better than when I used to give my daughter each vitamin individually, for years! 😬
4 caps is the adult recommended dose
The Vanadium and Chromium can help regulate blood sugar, which benefits us both.

  • Vitamin D3 – Dr’s Best gelcaps and Thorne liquid (K2 is in multivitamin)
  • Pro Resolving Mediators – Marine lipid concentrate – derived from and more potent than omega-3 fatty acids.
    • Directly modulate inflammatory pathways and promote tissue repair. Excellent for immunity and joints.
    • 1 cap each:
  • C15:0 fatty acid – Fatty15, cellular repair (me only) – Have taken for 3 years – not worth the cost. I had terrible long covid during much of that time so it can’t be all that great 😌 The price increases often, I plan to stop. (What did help me with LC is here.)
  • Optimal PC (Choline / Phospholipid Complex) – Seeking Health – important for brain health!
  • Lithium orotate – a trace mineral, 5mg for calm and many brain benefits! Klaire Brand
  • Mood Stabilizing
    • Selank peptide – Not in pillbox but needs to be mentioned! See below
    • Saw palmetto: for hormonal balance / androgen detox – (teen: 2x per day) – see my blog post and video here
  • Magnesium – in many forms

More Staple Supplements – not kept in pill boxes:

These are all of the B12’s we have used recently!
  • Methyl/Adenosyl/Hydroxy B12 Liquid – essential for cellular and muscular energy & brain health — excellent video re: forms of B12. We take with additional 5mthf and other b’s but they are also in the multivitamin.
    • Tip! B12 does not have a bad taste – you can use a capsule sublingually (pour part of the powder under the tongue) to avoid added ingredients in lozenges – more cost effective & works almost as well as injections
    • Check out my post for how important B12 supplements are here:
Your Body is Ghosting Vitamin B12 — Win back cognition & stamina, for good!

Removed TruNiagen, NAD+ is plenty on its own and much better!

  • DMG – methylation support & adaptogen works to overcome negative effects of stress and degenerative diseases. Great for mood, energy, well-being, abs more!
  • Huperzine A – a nootropic for cognition, we love it! Read my earlier blog post here. (1/8 capsule, Life Extension brand )
  • Iron Spatone liquid iron – simply the best absorbed iron available, I’m devastated when it’s out of stock! 1 packet per day
  • Calcium Citrate – me only, for oxalate issues
  • Calcium D Glucarate – estrogen detox (teen: 2 caps / day)
  • Digestion

•••

Peptides, Acute needs, Sleep and Hormonal supplements – all very essential to our health – are below the next section – keep reading!

Intermittent or Currently paused

Re: PQQ – mitochondria support – we do like it! Read my blog post here (we don’t take it daily but do use from time to time)
  • Fisetin – senolytic to help usher dead cells out of the body – especially brain. It’s not ideal for people with slow COMT (which is why we removed Neuroprotek a decade ago.)
    • “Like your body’s own Marie Kondo” autophagy is all the rage for longevity – we like peptides more and they deliver more notable changes.
    • We take it on and off – 1 cap, AM
  • Mucuna Puriens – excellent for nerve health & tremors (1/2 tablet) see blog post here  – we don’t need it anymore.
  • Acetyl L-Carnitine (brain and heart health)
    • Stopped using for now – I read it can decrease blood sugar & we don’t need that – also I suspected as a possible bladder irritant for me. I think the brain and heart peptides are more effective.
  • BCAA – Branched chain amino acids – regulate blood sugar, protect liver, building blocks of muscles.. I think we have enough amino acids after the peptides breakdown – and also the suspected this could be irritating my bladder. I think it might have been.

No longer using

  • Aloe vera capsules for acid reflux (teen) – no longer needed with Gastric Mucin Bioregulator Peptide
  • Beef Liver Capsules – Grass Fed (1-3 caps per day) — A concentrated source of vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients
  • Elite IgG – immune, gut and inflammation – retired this Feb 2025, observing if it’s needed so far it doesn’t seem to be. Keeping on hand in case of a PANS flare.

Sleep Stacks

We don’t take all of these at once 😴
  • Both: pineal peptides + as needed: melatonin & Selank peptide
  • Also for Me: DSIP (peptide)
  • Also for Teen daughter: on rotation – DHHBCBD – harmony brand, calm ASAP not needed anymore

•••

Tip! Did you know that if you need to reset circadian rhythm, you can use very low-dose melatonin (.1-.5mg) about four hours before you want to fall asleep, it helps my daughter a lot!

Injections

Me only, all from ageless Rx

  • NAD+ For inflammation, energy, longevity & MCAS
  • We both now use only the Nasal Spray and take it Sublingually — my NAD+ blog post is here.
  • We always take TMG with any form of NAD+ (1 capsule, Life Extension Brand)
  • Glutathione – for detox and liver support, not daily
  • Methyl B12 – energy, muscle cramping – stops RLS also also to help with homocysteine levels and build blood.

Menopause related (me only!)

I’m very passionate about the effectiveness of this lineup — Minus the cream on the right!
  • DHEA / Pregnenalone – from LifeForce, only 1/3 cap per day (bottle suggests 3!)
  • Bioregulators: Ovary, Adrenals & Thyroid – all are very impressive and essential (see below for more)
  • 5 Amino 1 MQ – energy & fat cell metabolism support
  • Collacell – skin elasticity bioregulator – can’t say enough about how effective this is at reversing the effects of gravity!
  • DSIP – Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide for deeper sleep

(All 3 above bullet points are covered in this post and this draft peri/ menopause specific post)

Tried Progesterone cream (a touch!) for both of us – that was short lived – caused acne for us both. It’s out!

Acute needs

  • Lysine – antiviral many people take for cold sores, but also miraculously effective for finger warts (my daughters gone in a week after months of other attempts)

Favorites of the Peptides and Bioregulators

If you’ve been following us, you know that peptides have been life-changing for us in the past year and a half.

They’re allowing us to remove supplements we no longer need!

If you’re peptide curious, my blog post here is a review of ALL of the peptides and bioregulators we’ve tried.

For brevity sake, here I’m just going to list some of the best of the best and you can find them in the other post.

(All are capsules unless noted)

We don’t take ALL of these peptides and not at once – it’s just a photo of all of them we have tried!
  • KPV – mast Cells / anti microbial
  • Selank – anxiety, worry, OCD, pain (nasal spray)
  • CogniPep – cognition and brain health (pulse dosing not daily)
  • TB4 Frag (tissue healing)
  • Various bioregulators: thyroid (ThyroPep), pineal gland (epitalon) collagen (Collacell), vessels (Ventfort), Lungs – cured asthma! (lunguard), stomach, liver, adrenal, pituitary, hypothalamus – see our new bioregulator guide! for all of these ☺️
  • DSIP (Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide)
    • See our Blog post for an in depth review! 🛌

How I store the Peptides & bioregulators:

This perfectly sized compartment box from target sits on my counter with the ones I’m testing it rotating out. It keeps them from spreading!

The push button pill box (Amazon) holds ones that I know I’ll be using daily.

This post is our How-to guide for Bioregulator Peptides!

No longer using

Prodrome Glia – Such a waste of money. Omega 9 Plasamlogens are said to restore brain white matter, myelin sheath, and heart membranes (1-2 caps per day) – took for 6 months, can’t say I noticed anything. Stopped in June 2025 (after 1 year) I notice no difference without it (5 mos later)

NR / Tru niagen for NAD+ enhancement taken (300 mg / day) with DMG – note this is not NAD+ and hardly effective. I don’t recommend it for the price and canceled my subscription.

Oil of oregano capsules (during viral illness) among other immune supports! We use Thymogen peptide now instead

Berberine or Goldenseal – for bacteria and reducing PANS flares (excellent for tics & OCD),  We now use KPV instead — see my PANS post >>>  here!

Vinpocetine – Increases blood flow to the brain 1/2 tablet per day. – not needed anymore – Ventfort bioregulator replaced it

St. John’s Wort: mood regulation (teen 3x a day) – she doesn’t need it anymore — Thank you Selank Peptide!

GABA – it recently caused me extreme dizziness when taken at night for sleep (lowers BP). I haven’t given it to my daughter in many years.

Vitex, DIM – tried for months to help with PMS symptoms however she seems better without them

Alpha GPC Choline – brain health – I read it can cause slight depression for some, I replaced it with optimal PC. We didn’t have issues but also wanted to switch it up.

Apigenin for hot flashes was needed and VERY helpful during perimenopause (my post here) I just don’t need it anymore – highly recommend!

Removed over the years:

• Countless, too many to list!

• The most notable one is – ALL Probiotics (they caused autoimmunity, anxiety and tics) — See my important post about them here.

•••

To keep this post positive, I won’t list all the other ones we tried and removed over the years.

If something didn’t make this list, there is most likely a reason.

The reason could be specific to us / our needs, or could be more general.

What I’ve learned most from putting this all on one page is wow we take a lot for brain health!

•••

I’ll boldly say we have tried OR considered almost all of supplements. treatments and diets floating around the health stratosphere!

We love that everyone has a unique path and we may very well have missed something that helped you greatly!

If so, let us know — we’d love to hear about it!

Thank you for being here 🤍

Throwback to 2012!

FAQ: What brand of empty capsules do we buy?

We like these — they’re also available in time release which we have too. You may want a smaller size 00 is the largest.
